Any area where there is loose skin. The entire face including the neck and eyes, which are the most requested areas. The treatment is also highly effective on the hands to rejuvenate loose skin. During a thorough consultation, your therapist will discuss the areas to focus on for optimum results. Other areas with loose skin can also be treated using our Collagenwave® Body treatment including thighs, buttocks, arms and stomach.
A regular session lasts 45 minutes in addition to the consultation, however extended sessions of 60, 90 and 120 minutes are also available for enhanced results. The longer the skin is exposed to the energy, the better the result.
Any male or female from 18 upwards with loose skin will benefit from Collagenwave® therapy. Clients with pacemakers, metal pins or plates in the treated area, pregnant women, epilepsy, disease of the heart/muscular or connective tissue, are not suitable for this treatment. A full consultation is carried out before treatment to determine your suitability to the treatment.
Initially we recommend a course of sessions. For best results, we recommend 2 hours for every decade of age. This course should be used within 4-12 weeks. The specific amount may vary and is determined by the condition of your skin, age, lifestyle and desired results. The closer the sessions and more treatments, the quicker and more effective results can be seen. After the course, we recommend following a maintenance programme of one session every 1 – 6 months. For those simply wanting a good anti-ageing programme we recommend ongoing maintenance programme as part of your monthly skin regime.
No downtime is required for Collagenwave®. You may experience some redness after treatment which usually subsides within 1 hour.
Any skin treatment carries the risk of side effects. However our therapists are highly trained using our machines to deliver energy into the skin is in an evenly distributed, safe and controlled manner.
The Collagenwave® compliments other cosmetic procedures such as anti-aging injection including Botox and Dermal Filler. We highly recommend that for enhanced results the Collagenwave® is used in conjunction with our range of skin peels.
The Collagenwave® wand is rolled firmly across the skin to deliver the energy into the skin, so you will feel a firm pressure during the treatment. As the treatment progresses the skin becomes warmer and can become quite hot however, the heat is rarely uncomfortable. Occasionally you may feel a slight sting if the wand loses contact with the skin. Although is it not aimed to be a relaxing treatment most clients find the pressure and heat quite pleasant.
For most clients immediate improvements can be seen straight away with further results becoming increasingly visible over 6 months. For most client’s improvements are gradual and subtle. Nevertheless, the changes can make the difference from a “tired face” to a rested one. Improvements may last up to 1 year. An extremely small amount of people who do not respond to radio therapy energy will see little or no results. This will be clear during your first treatment and your therapist will advise alternative therapies for you.
There is no special aftercare to follow however we advise that you always wear a factor 20+ sunscreen to protect your skin at all times. A good skincare routine is strongly recommended to boost and maintain the results of the treatment between visits. Your therapist will recommend the right products for you.
